Former Teammate Confirms Salah's Commitment
Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has shared private details of a conversation with Mohamed Salah, in which the Egyptian star reaffirmed his commitment to the club amid ongoing tensions with manager Arne Slot.
Speaking as a pundit on Amazon Prime, Sturridge revealed Salah’s emotional attachment to Liverpool, quoting the forward directly: “Mo has told me, ‘I love this football club. I don’t want to leave this club. This is where I want to be.’”
Tensions Rise Amid Squad Omission
The revelation comes during a turbulent period at Anfield, with Salah reportedly left frustrated after being dropped for several matches—including Liverpool’s recent victory over Inter Milan on Tuesday—a decision the 33-year-old viewed as disrespectful.
Despite the strained relationship with Slot, Sturridge urged dialogue, stating, “I think there needs to be another conversation between the manager and Mohamed Salah.”

Elmohamady Fires Back at Carragher's Criticism
Meanwhile, the public debate around Salah intensified after Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher described the forward as a “disgrace” in response to a recent interview. Though Carragher later apologized, his initial remarks provoked a fierce defense from former Aston Villa and Egypt defender Ahmed Elmohamady.
In a lengthy post on his 𝕏 account, Elmohamady passionately defended his compatriot’s legacy and character, writing, “Right, Jamie, you’re a disgrace. Salah completely rewrote his story through hard work, humility, and world-class performances.”

Elmohamady highlighted Salah’s remarkable career trajectory, challenging the narrative of past struggles: “He didn’t ‘fail’ at Chelsea, he was never given the chance. He went to Italy, rebuilt himself, then came to Liverpool and became: A Premier League legend; Egypt’s greatest ever player; One of the most consistent forwards of his generation.”
The defender also praised Salah’s impact on African football, noting, “Salah has carried Egypt for years and got Egypt qualified for the World Cup twice after so long. Salah earned everything.”
Elmohamady concluded with a pointed critique of Carragher’s own punditry history, referencing past clashes with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and José Mourinho: “No wonder you got blanked by C.Ronaldo. No wonder Messi called you out. No wonder Mourinho said you were below average and not even in the top 1000 defenders in PL.”....
